1897, Lulu Wightman, Avoca

New York Indicator, December 1, 1897

I COMMENCED a series of meetings in this village Nov. 11, which have been very largely at tended, and every evening, except one when the weather was inclement, between fifty and one hundred have been unable to obtain admittance for lack of standing room. A good interest in the subjects is manifested. Avoca is only three miles from Wallace, where I labored last summer, and, by the help of God, brought out a company of fourteen. I meet with them every Sabbath. Last Sabbath there were forty-two present, and the spirit of the Lord was present with might and power. One more signified her -intention to obey the Lord.

There is still a great interest manifested in the truth at Wallace, and we hope for other souls to embrace the message. Fourteen came down to the Avoca meeting Sunday night. Brethren and sisters, pray for the work in this locality, and especially in Avoca.
